My Testimony/View of Life
I am so grateful for this gospel. I know that my Savior is my Redeemer and has atoned for my sins. He is merciful and is always there to lift me up. I am grateful for the Holy Ghost, that I can be guided by it daily. I am grateful for the temple and the answers and revelation that can be found there. When my husband told me that he wanted to seriously join the Army National Guard, I did not want to do it. I was very against it. I knew that it meant that he would have to go to training for about 5 months and I would not be with him. We both went to the temple seeking for guidance. I got one of the strongest impressions I have ever gotten that he should join. Because of this feeling I knew that anything that happened was going to be OK because it was part of Heavenly Father’s plan. While he was gone, I had to live by myself for about two months. My best friends truly became my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I knew that I could pray and I would be comforted. During this time my husband and me grew so much by focusing on reading the scriptures and saying sincere prayers. When we did reunite a couple months later we could feel the difference in our marriage. The spirit was much more present than it ever has been in our marriage. For that experience alone I am grateful that he joined the military. During this time I also had many prayers answered. They were simple things such as a little text asking how I was doing so I didn’t feel so lonely, or someone helping me with car problems. I can’t describe the blessing I received from that wonderful trial. This experience has helped me to be grateful for the bumps along the way. I know that they will make me a stronger person. I am grateful to be sealed to my husband for all eternity. I can’t wait to have children and raise them in the gospel. I know that by living the gospel principles they will experience such joy! I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet today. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for the opportunity to do family history work for my ancestors and others. I love the scriptures and the spirit that comes from reading them. When I start my day by reading scriptures I am blessed with an extra added measure of the spirit. I am able to have more patience and be more productive. I know that my Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers. It is so wonderful to know that I can always rely on my Heavenly father to be there for me.
I am also grateful for my family, especially my parents. They were such great examples in being hard working people and dedicating their lives to the gospel. They taught me how important scripture reading, going to church, praying, and FHE are. They taught me the importance of tithing. We never had a lot of money growing up but they always paid a full tithe and explained the blessings that came from doing that. Because of that, I have never had a problem paying tithing and am so grateful for the blessings that come from it!
